EME2040 has been an overall good experience for me this semester. I have enjoyed the open environment and the interactive portions of class that allow me to learn new tools as well as speak out when I need help. I have enjoyed doing the projects so far, it has helped me to manage my time better and consider different angles of education, online and in person, and how I can run a classroom as a teacher. Sometimes, there are times when this class has been a struggle for me or there were times where it was not as enjoyable. There were times when the class became too much or there were lots of different assignments, I needed to do all at once but felt that I did not have time for. I have sat down to do my projects and looked and found I had three or four other smaller tasks I was supposed to complete at that time too. It became a little overwhelming to do all of these projects on top of my classes as well. However, this did not always outweigh my good experience with the class, and I would recommend it to others. When I am teaching, I will hope to provide my parents with lots of resources in order to help their child be as successful as possible. I want to make sure I have at least two meetings with the parents of my students each semester and make sure that my parents are always aware of what is happening in the classroom while still giving the student the freedom to learn and have fun in class. I can do this through zoom and other software I have learned about in this class.

Open educational resources (OERs) are resources used for learning, research, and teaching and are publicly accessible materials. The users are intended to be able to use these materials, create new things out of them or overall improve them, and then reproduce them for others under some kind of licensing. It is mentioned in this article published by the Harvard Library, OERs are described and their use is explained to the reader. It emphasizes the importance of using OERs and how to do so correctly. My blog here explains OERs too.

When working on Assignment 4: PowerPoint for Information Dissemination, I discovered how to properly record a PowerPoint and even download it as a show to present. I love using PowerPoints and have competed in the creation of them in the past, so I know really enjoyed getting to create another one. I did figure out this time around that I can set specific time limits on each slide to limit how long I spend there before I need to move on to the next one as well. Though I was not a huge fan of the recording part since I really do not enjoy having to listen to myself speak over video, I really did enjoy doing this most recent project. I think it is a very prominent form of technology that is used in classrooms and is something I will definitely need to know for the future. Next time, I will make sure to rehearse my recordings more before going into it and continuously stuttering.
